TOWARDS A GREENER PLANET AND FOOD FOR THE WORLD
The Putzmeister CSR Department plans to plant fruit bearing trees in places where they are available to the common people.
On 7th June Mr. Martin Knötgen, CEO of Putzmeister Holding, Dr. Xiangyang Jiang, Head of Global Compliance, Strategy and Business Development and Mr. Wilfried Theissen, Managing Director of Putzmeister India united together on the lawns of the Putzmeister Goa Headquarters to plant a Mankurat Mango sapling. This was done honouring the recent World Environment Day on 5th June and to launch our latest CSR initiative.
Mr Theissen in his speech to the employees said that, "The Goa mango (Mankurat) was reckoned the largest and most delicious to the taste of any in the world.” He also explained that, “As part of the 2018 CSR activities, the company would be planting fruit bearing trees; not only would this be towards a greener planet, but also a tiny gesture from Putzmeister India towards “Food for the World”.
Mr. Knötgen and Dr. Jiang honoured Mr. Theissen by joining him in planting the first tree on the Headquarter premises in Goa, India. He reaffirmed that “this was to show-case the joint efforts in reaching goals also in matters of sustainability.”
Putzmeister India marketing organised this initiative towards a greener planet and food for the world. The company plans to plant fruit bearing trees in places where they are available to the common people. The Mankurad Mango is regarded as more delicious than the Alphonso mango by worldwide connoisseurs. Sadly this Tree is dying out. Putzmeister India will help and plant this local tree as much as possible and work towards saving it.
