Pump: Innovative and Reliable
Putzmeister concrete pumps with the S-Valve are continually setting new world records in vertical and horizontal delivery. For example, in 1994 at Riva del Garda in Italy concrete was pumped vertically over 1,745-feet (532m), or a pump height of 1,990-feet (606m) at the Burj Khalifa job site. Even in these cases both machines and accessories were not operating at their limits, Putzmeister pumps can be counted on to perform reliably on demanding projects around the world.
With high delivery pressures up to 1,855 psi (130 bar), and maximum delivery outputs of up to 238 yd³/h (182m³/h), Putzmeister pumps are ideally suited for all concreting tasks.
Ideal for high pressure applications, our Big Mouth S-Valve effortlessly handles extremely harsh concrete mixes. It's huge 9-inch (230mm) intake opening provides a superior filling rate, while the long and controlled reduction of the S-Valve ideally forms the concrete for pumping.
Specific details such as durable delivery pistons, hard-chromed material cylinders and the S-Valve system ensure that all machines are able to withstand long periods of intensive use.
Mode of operation
- The low lying remixer paddle pushes the concrete directly in front of the cylinder openings
- Two powerful and fast-switching switch cylinders move the S-Valve back and forth in front of the large cylinder openings, thus releasing the pressure and intake openings alternately.
- Depending on the position of the S-Valve the concrete is being pulled into a cylinder or pushed through the delivery pipeline.

Ergonic® Control System for Truck-Mounted Concrete Boom Pumps
The computer-aided Ergonic® Pump System (EPS) regulates operation of the concrete pump and the truck engine. This results in fewer hydraulic components, which means less wear and reduced energy consumption. The pumping process is smoother overall, and vibrations in the boom and machine are kept to a minimum. This takes stress off the concrete pump and truck - as well as local residents and construction workers, who will enjoy a much quieter operation.
An integral component of the EPS module is Ergonic® Output Control (EOC) reduced fuel consumption, wear and noise. EOC automatically adjusts the engine speed to the minimum required for the delivery rate specified by the operator on the remote control. Additionally, the Ergonic system features the Ergonic® Graphic Display (EGD), a three-inch square color LCD screen on the modular control box. When the equipment is on, the main menu shows: hydraulic fluid temperature, operating hours, delivery pressure/delivery pressure limit and delivery rate/delivery rate limit.
The Ergonic 2.0 Radio Remote Control (FFS) on the latest generation Ergonic 2.0 is easy to handle and extremely lightweight — a whole 30 percent lighter than the previous model. Due to its comfort, well thought-out menu, and ease of controlling the pump, this system is extremely popular among machine operators. Additionally, it features a large, high-resolution color display, offering a complete overview with clear readability.

On the Ergonic 2.0 Graphic Display Remote Control (EGD-RC), the machine operator can view all relevant machine data and adjust individual parameters. Up-to-date feedback and system information for the machine appear in real time in the remote control display. Thanks to a reliable fault management system with double protection for the control system (electronic and hydraulic), the machine is fully operational in the event of a fault, even in emergency operation. If certain components fail that are not relevant for safety, they can be switched off, enabling work to continue without interruption.
