Learn more about Putzmeister’s mining solutions at IMME 2018
Putzmeister is a worldwide leading solution provider for pumping, mixing and placing concrete, mortar and industrial solids. With a focus on being Close To Your Business, Putzmeister offers integrated solutions in the application, transport and batching of concrete in mines; as well as the processing and conveyance of sludge and other high-density materials.
LOW PROFILE CONCRETE MIXERS
Given the small section galleries and harsh conditions of underground mining, Putzmeister’s line of low profile concrete mixers MIXKRET provide optimal manoeuvrability and mobility, thanks to their compact size and powerful engines. Also notable is their capacity to operate in high altitude environments.
With unbeatable performance levels and heavy duty, reliable concrete transport machinery, Putzmeister’s line of low profile truck mixers are your best bet, when it comes to transporting concrete.
The recently launched Mixkret 3 is the only mixer in the market of its height (2,200 mm) that has a mixing capacity of 3 m3
CONCRETE SPRAYING IN MINES AND TUNNELS
Shotcrete spraying equipment has become the standard in flagship underground construction work. A high spray output offering high quality, homogenous application combined with a reduced rebound rate, reduced workforce requirements and equipment wear and tear, as well as a safer working environment, make it the preferred working method worldwide.
Putzmeister’s WETKRET line of machines service high volume underground mining projects the world over, ensuring safe and accurate concrete spraying. The company also offers mortar equipment for screeding and grouting work in the construction of mines and tunnels.
The Wetkret 4 series, ideal for narrow galleries in mining, boasts two spraying arm versions, one with a maximum vertical reach of 10 m and the other of 7.5 m.
SAFE AND ECONOMIC HANDLING OF SLUDGE AND HIGH-DENSITY MATERIALS
Advanced mining methods such as “Cut and Fill” or “Room and Pillar”, safety considerations, environmental aspects as well as economic reasons mandate backfilling of voids created during the mining process. Putzmeister’s KOS (S transfer tube) and HSP (seat valve) pumps and ZX piping systems are renowned for their ability to handle abrasive material and conveying distances up to 11 km from the mixing facility with no pumps installed enroute.
With an ability to handle foreign bodies in material up to two thirds of the pipeline’s diameter, the reliable and robust Putzmeister HSP pumps have proven effective in transporting tailings.
Reliable mineral slurry transportation is the heartbeat of the mineral processing system which ensures the smooth flow of the entire process. Putzmeister’s solid pumps are capable of transporting high volumes from the crushing facility to their next processing point, such as dewatering or intermediate storage. Mine dewatering and conveying sludge are also efficiently handled by these pumps.
SCISSOR LIFT PLATFORMS FOR SAFE LOGISTICS
The lifting of personnel and cargo, along with the installation of pipes and fans, is vital in underground mining operations. Putzmeister’s MINELIFT 4, a scissor lift platform is mobile and secure, and available in two configurations. It provides a safe working platform for the elevation of personnel and cargo in underground works. For piping installation it additionally includes an extendable platform, a crane with high load capacity and a pipe handling system.
