New CEO of Putzmeister Japan
On November 30th, 2017 Mr. Shinichi Kawahara began his well-deserved retirement. Mr. Kawahara joined Putzmeister in 2014, as Sales Director, Japan. Following the Mr. Suzuki’s departure from PMJ in 2014, he took over the management of Putzmeister Japan as CEO and Representative Director.
On January 1st, 2018, Mr. Yuki Oka took over the position of CEO and Representative Director, Putzmeister Japan. Mr. Yuki Oka is 38 years, is married and has two children.
After graduating from Keio University, Tokyo, Mr. Oka began his career at Sumitomo Corporation, one of the leading Japanese trading houses for construction equipment. Mr. Oka stayed with Sumitomo until his move to Putzmeister. In his 15 years seniority at Sumitomo, Mr. Oka has worked in several positions, both domestic and internationally.
He started out working in the marketing department for three years. He then transferred to Indonesia where he managed the construction equipment department. Back at HQ in Tokyo, he took on the responsibility of global strategy for the business unit mining machinery. During this time Mr. Oka also headed the set-up of the subsidiary in Mongolia. After four years in this position, he was delegated to the Sumitomo Subsidiary SMS Construction & Mining System Inc., Canada. As member of the board he was the Director of Strategy & Business Development. From 2013 until his move to Putzmeister Mr. Oka worked at Sumitomo HQ in Tokyo where he was responsible for the development and implementation of Sumitomo’s M&A and partnership strategies in the equipment rental industry.
