Update on Covid-19 pandemic at german Putzmeister companies

Dear valued partner,

The global Covid-19 pandemic continues to dominate our lives and the lives of the entire world population, and will probably continue to do so for weeks and months to come. With this further letter we would like to inform you how we deal with this challenging situation at Putzmeister.

We at Putzmeister focus on the health and safety of our employees, their families and that of our customers and partners. The closure of the German locations from 23 March to 13 April 2020 while maintaining a so-called emergency staffing was an essential first step.

Since the risk of infection has not changed, our employees will continue to work from home wherever possible in the coming weeks.

 

Short-time working at Putzmeister at the German locations

In recent weeks we have seen a sharp drop in incoming orders, prompting us to adjust our production volume to actual requirements. In addition, the delivery of manufactured products by service providers is very limited due to a lack of drivers and international restrictions. An acceptance of our machines is also not 100% possible.

The further necessary protective measures for our employees also require a reduced presence of our employees. All this together means that Putzmeister will introduce short-time working at its German locations from April 14th 2020.

Short-time work is initially scheduled to last until the end of may 2020. A possible extension beyond may will be reviewed at regular intervals and adjusted to the current situation. We will keep you up to date with the relevant decisions.

Following the closure of production and large parts of the administration, the move to short-time working is a first step back to normality. Your usual contact persons or their representatives are there for you again.

However, we ask for your understanding that there may be delays in replying to inquiries due to the quantity and due to the circumstances. At the same time, it would be helpful if you could check with your local authorities to what extent deliveries are still accepted and inform us accordingly.

The Putzmeister Service & Spare Parts Team will continue to be available to you by e-mail or on the usual telephone numbers as in the closing weeks. Here too, there may be one or two small delays due to the same circumstances, we ask for your understanding.

We are aware of the uncertainty in the market and in society and know that many of your questions cannot be answered at present. We ask for your understanding, we are working on it and are constantly evaluating the situation anew.

This situation shows us as probably as never before that we are all globally connected. In accordance with our motto "Close to your Business", we support you in the best possible way even in these times.
