Environmentally friendly and quiet concrete pumping

the magic word is iONTRON

The mobile and stationary iONTRON concrete pumps from Putzmeister now make it possible to pump concrete in an environmentally friendly and quieter way than ever before. This is made possible by an electric motor integrated in the hydraulic pump train, which is simply plugged into the existing construction site power supply. Putzmeister has been offering truck-mounted concrete pumps with a placing boom reach height from 20m to 47m for several years. The machine operator drives the truck-mounted concrete pump conventionally to the construction site using the diesel drive of the lorry chassis, plugs the machine into the existing construction site power supply (63 or 125 amps) and then operates the entire machine electrically.

Dozens of truck-mounted concrete pumps from the iONTRON series are already in operation in Scandinavia. Putzmeister customers, construction workers and neighbours on the construction sites are full of praise for this technology. We talked to pump drivers as well as coordinators and administrative staff about their experiences with the iONTRON truck-mounted concrete pump.

Juuso Siitonen is the co-owner of the Finnish concrete pumping service provider Betonipumppaus Laatikainen. "iONTRON is a new, environmentally friendly technology, with the iONTRON truck-mounted concrete pump we are fit for the future".

Hans Orest, Head of Concrete Placing Machines at Sweden's largest concrete pumping service provider Swerock AB: "Swerock wants to be the leading company in terms of the environment, health and nature conservation.  Our aim at Swerock is to work in a more CO²-neutral way. In addition to the electrically powered truck-mounted concrete pumps, we also want to use the electrically powered truck mixer from Putzmeister".

Niki Kuivala, an experienced concrete pump operator from Laatikainen, has his say: "The machine is very easy to operate, just plug it in and that's it, the operation is no different from a diesel-powered concrete pump".

Erick Pyk, Pump Coordinator at Swerock AB adds; "You connect the concrete pump with a normal cable, no additional training or special licences are required for operation."

"Putzmeister sees itself as a trendsetter in the concrete construction industry and will continue to focus its product development on sustainable and energy-efficient machines in all its market technology fields," says Putzmeister Product Manager for iONTRON truck-mounted concrete pumps Patrick Hildenbrand.
