Putzmeister America, Inc., (Putzmeister) has introduced its first concrete batching plant in Latin America.  The Putzmeister MT 1.0 concrete batching plant was sold to Preforte, a large ready-mix supplier headquartered in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The batching plant was purchased for use in the production of concrete for the World Trade Center (WTC) project. With a large offering of rentable office spaces, the towers will act as the main engine of industrial, agricultural, forestry, and other efforts in the city.

Preforte, an important Putzmeister customer in South America,  also purchased three  (3) new BSF 38Z-5 truck-mounted boom pumps to add to their fleet that includes three (3) city pumps, five (5) stationary pumps, and six (6) truck mounted boom pumps.  Several of which were used on the Santa Cruz job site of the World Trade Center.

“We chose the Putzmeister batching plant above other manufacturers because of its state-of-the-art technology, reduced operating costs, reliability, and the excellent support in after sales service and spare parts availability locally in Santa Cruz, Bolivia” said Julio Cesar Suarez, General Manager at Preforte.

The Putzmeister MT1.0 batching plant is a state-of-the-art concrete batching system that produces high-quality wet batch concrete. Each ingredient introduced into the mix, cement, water, additives, sand and stone is weighed on special calibrated scales and then transported to the stationary mixer inside the plant. The finished concrete product is then loaded in mixer trucks for transport to the jobsite.

The Putzmeister MT 1.0 concrete batching plant was stationed near the construction site for the World Trade Center Tower in Santa Cruz. It is being used to produce concrete structures in the buildings and for other infrastructure at the Santa Cruz de la Sierra project. The project consists of two 30-floor towers joined by a skyway bridge. The towers will have 90,000 square meters of space with a 750-car capacity parking structure.

“Having a reliable batching plant system in this location has been extremely important,” said Alfonso Roa, regional sales director for Putzmeister. “Putzmeister equipment helped demonstrate the operational efficiency of Preforte by reducing the cycle time from batching concrete, to delivering it in mixers to pumping it. All which is critical in providing high quality concrete for the massive pours”

“With the successful introduction of our Putzmeister Batching Plants into Latin America, Putzmeister now offers a new line of reliable concrete products available to all our customers in the region, supported by our extensive first-class dealer network.”  said Marc Aguilar, vice president of sales for Latin America and the Caribbean region for Putzmeister.

The towers have one of the largest volumes of concrete of any buildings in Santa Cruz with pours lasting up to 8-12 hours a day. With 20% of phase two completed, roughly 10,000 cubic meters of concrete have been poured.

The project began in early 2019 and is estimated to be completed at the end of 2021. Construction on the project is split into two phases: foundation work, which was completed by Incotec, and structural work and floor pours by Construmac, which is already underway.
