Stationary pump training for machine operators

Aug 5, 25

As part of the long-standing close cooperation between the Putzmeister SAB (Special Application Business) team and the concrete pump service providers KUNO and Betonlift on various construction projects, a training course for machine operators was carried out for the first time at the beginning of July 2025, which was specially tailored to the requirements of building construction/bridge construction and precast plants.

Martin Jung, Lukas Reiser (both Academy) and Holger Rieck (SAB) gave the participants an overview of the machine technology and operation of Putzmeister stationary pumps and placing booms, as well as the special features of the pumping processes, which are very different in building construction and precast plants.

The machine components could be demonstrated live on our most powerful stationary pump BSA 14000 SHP D and with a practical demonstration by Alexander Arnold (Process and Application Technology) on the BSA 1408 E in the test area, the participants were given an understanding of the cleaning process of a stationary conveyor line.

The training participants from the companies KUNO (Cologne), Betonlift (Hamburg), BFU (Berlin) and BFM (Munich) are mostly experienced stationary pump operators who have already pumped and introduced concrete on major projects such as the Elbtower in Hamburg or the Fehmarnbelt Tunnel in Denmark and enriched the training with their experience and contributions.

"Our machinists have a lot of practical knowledge, which was well shared in this large group. This knowledge was now underpinned by the very entertaining training of Putzmeister with many practical units. Many thanks to the team and to Putzmeister," says KUNO Managing Director Ralf Klingebiel.

Michael Höss (Head of SAB) adds: "The example of the Fehmarnbelt tunnel shows how important the experience and competence of the machine operators are for reliable production operation with our Putzmeister pumps. Therefore, we want to strengthen the partnership with the concrete pump service providers for our projects, who support us with these qualities and can thus ensure a safe and efficient concrete pumping process in combination with our machine technology."

Over the two and a half days, a lively exchange developed between the speakers and the training participants as well as among the participants themselves. Numerous experiences were shared and common topics were discussed intensively. At the end of the training, the enthusiasm was palpable to soon be able to work with a Putzmeister stationary pump and to become part of one of the demanding large-scale projects.
